Kimberly Winters: A Mortgage Expert Guiding Clients to Get Their Dream Home

The 10 Most Influential Women in Mortgage Industry 2022

There’s a lot riding on your decision to hire a loan expert, whether you’re buying, selling, refinancing, or developing your ideal house. Your opinion of the home buying experience will be transformed for the better as your loan officer is supported by Movement Mortgage‘s teams and resources. Kimberly Winters, the founder of The Kim Winters Team powered by Movement Mortgage, has the knowledge and experience to guide you through the process of exploring financing choices in a plain and uncomplicated manner.

She began her work in the financial field as a banker after getting her BA from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. With a 20-year career behind her, she is enthusiastic about assisting others and has successfully guided thousands of customers through the mortgage process. Kim has established a team that encourages and inspires women to thrive in this area while also assisting clients with their home purchases and refinances.

Kimberly’s major goal at The Kim Winters Team is to drive the team toward development through business creation and new partnerships.

Stepping in Mortgage Realm

Kimberly’s background in banking and financial planning prepared her for a career in mortgage lending. Prior to having children, she worked as an investment advisor/CFP for a national bank.

Kimberly wanted to stay at home after delivering her first child, according to her. When she returned to work, one of her old coworkers advised her to look into mortgages to get more flexibility. She quickly learned that she adored assisting people in realizing their goal of owning a home. Her training in financial planning enabled her to see the mortgage process as a necessary component of wealth creation. It also gave her the ability to see her clients as relational rather than transactional.

Thriving under Pressure

Kimberly possesses the rare ability to compartmentalize and de-emotionalize circumstances. She flourishes, believe it or not, under the regular mortgage-related challenges that the team experiences. She feels that removing the emotion from a stressful circumstance allows people to see solutions more clearly. She says, “Difficult situations for me tend to revolve around my personal vulnerability.”

Kimberly has worked hard to be emotionally present because she believes that is the only way to establish a genuine connection. This is extremely crucial in team environments, and she has learned through the years that vulnerability has a lot of power.

Kimberly is incredibly motivated at work and thrives on achieving the objectives she sets for herself and her team. She works rapidly, surveys circumstances in order to comprehend and identify solutions, and isn’t always the best listener until she slows down. She asserts, “Speed of implementation is critical in a changing market. Done is better than perfect, and you just have to go and perfect it along the way.

Kimberly is an excellent team player who believes that true leadership is about helping others. She works well with her coworkers and is continuously looking for ways to motivate them to grow as a team.

Renowned for Excellence

Since 2014, Kimberly has regularly been in the top ten loan officers at Movement Mortgage, earning both the Presidents Club and Changemaker awards.

She has also received several accolades, including Top 1% Mortgage Originators in America, Scotsman’s Guide Top Women Originator, Top 40 Under 40 Business Professionals Asheville Recipient, and Mortgage Banker of the Year honoree for 2011.

Enjoying Life at Fullest

Kimberly is a wife and mother of five children, two dogs, and two cats when she is not at work. She is also a daughter who is caring for a mother who is nearing the end of her life. Her unwavering commitment to her customers and other realtors in her neighborhood sets her apart. Kim takes satisfaction in giving back to her community by volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, Haywood Street Congregation, Eblen Charities, and the American Cancer Society.

Kim spends her free time at the beach with her husband, five children, and two dogs. The sandwich generation into which she is entering is a difficult time in her life. She says, “In the spare moments I can steal, I love escaping to the ocean, which is my happy place.”

Changing Work Norms

According to Kimberly, the largest change in the sector since the epidemic, according to Kimberly, is a shift in people’s mentality about “how we conduct business.” Working remotely, she believes, offers numerous advantages for most people, but it also brings new obstacles as the team strives to stay connected. Kimberly believes the staff has learnt that no matter “where” they sit, they can provide excellent service to clients. She says, “The challenge will be maintaining connection with our team and referral partners in a deep and meaningful way as things continue to open back up.”

True Success Bring Impact

Kimberly is a fierce competitor when it comes to herself. Her definition of success is the difference she can make in the lives of her clients and team members as her company grows. She believes elevating people has the unintended consequence of automatically bringing about success. She says, “When you do the right thing and focus on making an impact, success naturally comes.”

Kimberly’s greatest achievement thus far, she believes, is creating a business that truly changes lives. She says, “The lives of my family, clients, and team have been changed for the better through the daily effort I exert because this is my passion.”

Advice for other women

People admire genuineness, strategic thinking, and competence, according to Kimberly, a female leader. Her advice to female leaders is to work hard to empower the women in their lives. She goes on to say that as women, we have superpowers because of our capacity to empathize, nurture, and be compassionate. “Giving back by mentoring and elevating people around you buildsinfluence, raises the level of play, and creates a ripple effect of change. Make sure people know they can rely on you and always strive for consistency,” says Kimberly.

One of the major challenges for women, according to Kimberly, has been mentality and leverage. She says that growing your profession while being a mother is like walking a tightrope. She shares that “Gender bias is real” and women are much more likely to avoid delegation.

Kimberly strained to work extra hours in order to outperform her male peers. She was able to recruit people to help her business once she surrounded herself with mentors. She believes that women are continuously expected to show their value, and that this will continue to be the case until institutional views in the corporate world change.

Bringing More Change to the Communities

Kimberly aims to continue establishing a team that makes an impact in the future years, leaving a legacy for the people around her. She associated herself with Movement Mortgage because they have similar principles. She is committed to the company’s objective of becoming a force for good in the communities it serves. The Kim Winters Team is licensed in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, Illinois, and Georgia. She says, “I love the impact I am able to make through this organization on the lives of those around me.”
