Below are highlights of the interview:
What was the idea behind becoming a fixed cost expert in our law firm Red Bar Law?
Enabling our clients to evaluate the cost of each element of their work, before the work has been carried out, both from an affordability perspective and from a strategy point.
Tell us more about Red Bar Law and how it is helping clients with their businesses?
I understand first-hand the struggles and challenges that come with going through a divorce, as well as trying to navigate our laws as a business owner. Having gone through a divorce with a high asset base myself, I lived through what I believe was one of the most difficult times of my life. The continued success in business, meant facing legal challenges that brought about my thirst to always have access to the best legal assistance and knowhow. I felt compelled to offer my own expertise and experiences, working with carefully selected legal experts, to assist those in need with the highest level of legal expertise. Commerciality and careful planning of every case are at the heart of the legal services provided by Red Bar Law, with a no-nonsense, proactive and pragmatic approach.
As a non-lawyer legal professional, Hatti can totally relate to the distress, anger, and upset that people and businesses go through when there is a dispute, that results in having to obtain legal assistance.
As well as being specialists in complex and high-net-worth divorce matters, the Red Bar Law team brings specialist legal assistance and a depth of understanding and experience in commercial litigation and employment matters for both employers and employees, and Red Bar Law assists businesses with high-value disputes ranging from contract disputes to business partner/shareholder disputes and much more.
What advice would you give someone who is just starting to build their career in the legal sector?
Be like a sponge. Learn from everything that comes your way, and if you are in the UK, learn as much as you can from the Bar. Barristers have a wealth of knowledge, and excellent legal practice skills. Treat every client with the upmost consideration, and care for the outcome of their matter .
What gets you up in the morning? What are your responsibilities as the founder of the company?
Every client becomes a personal consideration for me, and I care about each and every process and outcome. I try to present RBL in a way which not only the every-day person can relate to and understand, but also make corporates aware that keeping legal services simple, with a fixded cost and at a high level, bring the best results.
What has made you successful? What do you value?
I value getting the best results for my clients, no matter how big or small their legal matter is. I enjoy seeing and feeling the gratitude that comes from providing useful life-changing information and support.
What is the best way to build a great team?
Work out how to get the best out of each individual that works with you. Home in on each person’s personal strengths, and support them to enhance their abilities.
What advice would you give to the next generation of female solicitors?
Don’t get caught up in the stale office environment of a solicitor’s firm, and try to always think outside of the box. Being a mother myself, I can tell you that having children does not prevent you from advancing in your career, whilst maintain the work/life balance of being a mother; I have two boys (ages 15 and 4) and have only excelled while working from home for the majority of the past 16 years. Believe in yourself, and focus and enjoy each moment of each day. Set your goals to strive, and don’t resist changes to your path if it means a better outcome.
What are your future plans to sustain your and the company’s success?
To continue caring about each and every outcome for our clients. To continue to provide fixed fee, accessible legal services, in plain and simple English. To continue to grow Get Legally Speaking, to make legal education and information accessible to all, in plain and simple English.
