Tell us more about the firm.
Küçükislamoglu | Narin & Partners (“KN”) is a full service law firm headquartered and located in Istanbul, Turkey, operating in Ankara and Turkey. As of 2019, the firm has taken over the flag from Nesil Law Group, which is one of the best insurance law offices in Turkey. KN & Partners has one of the youngest and most innovative teams in Turkey. The success of our law firm has been proven by the many authorities that have rated the law firms.
Why did you choose to become a Corporate and Maritime Law expert?
The fundamental reason why I decided to focus my career path on corporate and maritime law is that the entwined web of relations between the worlds of law and business mostly requires a great deal of knowledge and expertise in both of the abovementioned areas. Moreover, I often found myself engulfed in problems associated with corporates, sea-born crafts, and similar stuff. I ended up carving such unique approaches to these dilemmas and derived a great amount of enjoyment from being so involved in the process of delivering quality answers to these challenges.
As the Partner, what are your major roles and responsibilities in the company?
The position that I occupy at KN Partners comes with important responsibilities of every kind. For instance, I take the lead in shaping our firm’s relationships with clients and in conceptualizing the best recipe that is tailor-made for the needs and expectations of our business partners. Another role of mine is that I first-hand assist the newcomers in adjusting to our law office and help them build up the notion of the law by familiarizing them with the practical side of our job. I cannot overemphasize how important it is for me to be at the helm of this transfer of experience to those who are seeking to be guided on matters of importance.
Describe who you are as a person, inside and outside of the workplace.
I never tend to shape my personality in accordance with where I am or what I am doing. Therefore, I cannot come up with a single answer to this question as my character traits are wholly entwined with both my professional and personal life. I sincerely hate feeling down, irrespective of the conditions surrounding me. Thus, I always keep my mood up and stay positive and strong against the challenges that face me and my business. Another primary feature of mine is that I never abstain from collaborating and corroborating with my teammates on any subjects since what we, as individuals of a highly spectacular and interesting era, are going through is nothing that has been seen before. That’s why I attach great importance to others’ views and feelings.
What changes do you wish to bring in society?
Like any other lawyer who is committed to the idea of justice only for the sake of it, I set out on this long marathon to help the community of all those people practicing law instill this great thought in the minds and souls of the whole society because life would be unbearable and completely in disarray with the dearth of justice reigning in our institutions. That’s why I always wish to introduce into our society the best image of the idea of a just and right world.
What do you consider to be your greatest achievement so far and why?
Putting aside all the material achievements that my background testifies to, I want to put an emphasis on what I believe constitutes the core element of who I have become. I’ve always imagined a new version of myself, equipped with the skills that a high-skilled lawyer needs to make his or her dreams a reality.I conceive the realization of this novel by myself as the greatest attainment of mine.
What advice would you give to the emerging leaders and enthusiasts considering a career in legal sector?
The first thing that has popped up in my mind is to tell the emerging leaders and enthusiasts looking for a staunch career in law that you should never-ever give up no matter how desperate and hopeless you might feel when confronted with difficulties or problems which may hamper your ideals. This advice has been my motto for very long now as I believe that the great dreams which we have harbored in the deepest places of our hearths would be shattered as soon as we enter the market and launch our own journey for the practice of law. To overcome the burden of such a disappointment, one needs to learn how to be resilient and resistant against the backdrop of your plans/dreams/expectations. I always believe that working hard without giving any thought to what others may think of you is the best way for you to achieve the results that you’re looking for.
Where do you see yourself and the firm in upcoming years?
With the aid of members of our dedicated team and the never-seen-before instruments that we employ, I envisage that our law firm, which has already proved to be the fastest-growing Office among its peers, shall transform itself into a full-fledged firm that shall exert influence not only over domestic markets but also at a global scale. Furthermore, I expect our law firm to offer more pro-bono work to those in need thanks to its ever-enlarging dynamic and skilled team than it has already been doing so. Leading such a law firm in the best way possible and delivering most convenient panaceas for our clients is where I position myself in the future.
