Two accomplished IT professionals with a combined 10-year career in major businesses founded Solidstudio in 2017. A “normal” software company with the goal of providing specialized and clever solutions to support the business’s uninterrupted operation was the initial concept. An e-Mobility firm was one of the company’s initial clients back then. Soon after the project was accepted, the team at Solidstudio made the decision to focus on a particular area of expertise and quickly earned the title of actual industry specialists. The decision has somewhat become clear in light of the success of the aforementioned eMobility initiative and the at-the-time expanding EV business.
From that point forward, client acquisition was done consciously by means of developing competence in this particular industry, keeping the eMobility-focused strategy in mind. We also began developing internal digital goods for the EV environment at about that time.
As the eMobility clients began to arrive, our specialists had excellent ways of learning about the sector and the requirements and preferences of potential partners. The business quickly developed into what it is today.
Over 35 employees are currently employed by the business, 20 of whom are actively involved in the creation of eMobility products.
Below are highlights of the interview:
What makes Solidstudio such a strong source of software solutions?
Experts from Solidstudio have been working on projects involving the development of software solutions for EV industry clients from all over the world (including some of the biggest players in the eMobility field). Some of the projects involved building charging software infrastructure from scratch, i.e., CPO platforms or EMP apps. The great expertise built over years of focusing on the EV charging software has led to the experts leading consulting sessions and training workshops on top of the tech development process. The team consists of great software engineers, some of whom completely dedicate their professional time to building eMobility-based solutions.

What steps does the team take to determine the clients’ requirements before providing them services?
Throughout the process, we follow agile and scrum methodologies, depending on the client’s needs, size, and nature of the project and predicted timeframes. For us, usually, the process consists of six stages, but in the end, it all depends on the approach dedicated to the specific project:
- Recognition: Setting a pace and bringing to light technical challenges to adjust the future process.
- Business and technical intelligence Backlog details, road map, architecture decisions, choosing the right technologies, redefined team composition, detailed estimate.
- Design: The main goal of this stage is to design a digital product or service with excellent usability, sales value at an acceptable cost and within a reasonable time
- Development: Delivering the best, scalable solution for your business, one iteration at a time.
- Launch and further development: releasing the usable part of the product within the planned timeline and taking care of the maintenance.
- Support: Providing you with adjusted to your needs support plan
We put a lot of emphasis on getting to know our clients and applying our eMobility expertise in the most fitting way. It is worth mentioning that we collaborate with people who are experts in the field as well as with some that are taking their first steps in the EV industry. We always adjust the pace and technical support to whatever the needs are. We also provide in-depth consulting, ensuring all our clients remain well informed about all development phases.
What is the management’s view on enhancing EV solutions through comprehensive software offerings?
Having had a chance to operate within the industry for a few years now, we are now well aware of how much of an integral part of the whole ecosystem software is. Things such as open standards implementations, eRoaming via hubs or simply well-built charge point operators’ platforms allowing for charging network management are, to a great extent, responsible for mass EV adoption. It’s what makes EV charging accessible to drivers all over the world, no matter what brand of vehicle they use. We know the significance of such solutions as well as their crucial features and functionalities. Thanks to our custom development + off-the-shelf mixture, we’re delivering the eMobility products with great time and budget saved.
What are the company’s key duties to the industry as a leading software solution provider?
Certainly, it’s making sure that any offered solution is of the highest quality. We provide the most fitting products, taking into account all the industry nuances and requirements. With proven experience in adapting to open standards and custom APIs, we partner with companies in the process of integration between core components and external partners to unlock e-mobility possibilities.
We developed solutions on both sides—eMobility Service Providers and Charge Point Operators. Knowing the challenges that might be faced, we can help to smoothly accustom at any stage of development in order to unlock business processes. Knowing the value of time, we have developed tailor-made modules that can significantly boost the adaptation.
Solidstudio has launched a suite of our own products:
- CPO platform
- EMP application
- OCPI Gateway
- OCPP Gateway.
The suite is designed to facilitate charging network management in the most efficient way, whether it’s for the huge operators or the much smaller ones.
What kind of work culture does Solidstudio have?
We’re a remote-first software house, but with a great office in the city centre open to anyone who prefers working there. Naturally, our employees are offered a flexible working schedule. We meet regularly for some integration events. The management takes great care in keeping everyone updated through regular company updates. Apart from the delivery team, Solidstudio also has a dedicated sales and marketing team and recruitment.
Recruitment plays an important role as well. We put a lot of care and effort into making sure the recruitment process runs smoothly and quickly for the newcomers.
