YoCharge, a subsidiary of Yellow Haze Sustainable Technologies, launched in 2018 with the primary goal of promoting and creating sustainable technologies in opposition to those used by traditional technologies and processes.
Since electricity is expected to eventually meet all of the world’s energy demands, Yellow Haze Sustainable Technologies has focused mostly on this energy source. It is only a matter of time before electricity replaces other energy sources, such as gasoline and other fossil fuels.
As a result, Yellow Haze Sustainable Technologies began using solar power in 2018 and provided its customers with electricity that was comparatively green. The company chose to develop YoCharge to actively participate in India’s transition to improved transportation towards the end of 2021, after realizing that the country was ready for electricity to begin replacing gasoline as a source of energy for transportation.
Below are highlights of the interview:
Tell us about CEO/ Founder’s background and what did he do before joining the industry?
YoCharge & Yellow Haze’s founder, Jaideep, is an engineer by profession, and like every other engineer on the planet, has been building places, things, and solutions. He founded prakati.in, a platform for raising awareness about sustainability and sustainable initiatives, in addition to YoCharge and Yellow Haze.In 2017, he founded RajRas-a platform providing information on the history, culture, economy, geography, and places of Rajasthan, his native state (county, province).
Apart from these, as a project engineer and manager, he has been part of a team building manufacturing plants, research and development centers etc. He graduated from IIT Roorkee, a renowned college of engineering.
Tell us about the company’s offering and how it is revolutionizing the industry globally.
YoCharge offering can be classified across three different verticals, first is the hardware; the second is the hardware agnostic software platform; and the third is the charging solution. As a company, we are not dealing in silos of software or hardware or a solution company, but rather an end-to-end technology company building core blocks of technology that can integrate with different partners or can integrate among themselves to provide complete solutions.
Our Charger Management platform is hardware agnostic and integrates any OEM charger globally. We are in talks with partners to provide an EV Charging Management Platform as a Service to clients in Australia & selected countries in Europe.
What are your standard processes and procedures and how do you maintain to keep up with the customers’ expectations?
At YoCharge, we have put our customer experience above everything else. All the internal processes and feedback loops are structured in a way so as to prioritize customer experience. In our case, we believe that the charging experience is going to be the key differentiator in the long-term and hence our development is limited not only to software or hardware but to a complete solution.
Furthermore, before releasing any solution feature to the public, we conduct internal and pilot-project (beta-launch) testing with our selected partners and clients.
As a leader, how would you describe Featured person’s management style and philosophy?
I believe that the founder’s KRA is to create a platform that positively multiplies the input and delivers more value to customers (society) then takes payments (resources). Along with building a profitable company, it is also important to build a company that does not fear taking on difficult tasks, provides opportunities for growth to employees and partners, multiplies investor wealth, and induces a positive spiral in the environment and society.
What are the three things the company would like to improve in society, industry, or people’s lives?
At YoCharge, sustainability is at the core of building any technology, product, or solution, and we would like to improve sustainability in society, industry, and people’s lives. While solar is not pollution free, it is certainly better than thermal power plants. While electric cars are not zero polluting, they certainly have zero tailpipe emissions and are better than gasoline-fueled cars.
What was your key driving force to become a successful company?
The key driving force is always the desire to excel and set benchmarks, first trying to achieve them and then improving. We believe that success is not a destination but a journey, with each day being a successful day with respect to the past but a failure when compared to the future. The key is to keep on delivering and improving.
Does your company’s responsibility strategy match the availability of its current resources?
Though the responsibility strategy moves in synergy with the resources, there is always a gap between responsibilities, deliverables, and the resources. The gap, we believe, is essential to push a team to their limits and work to their potential.
Where do you see your company in the next five years?
At YoCharge, we aim to define the standards of charging experience, and so we are working on a path to develop and possess complete control over the charging process, which involves electricity, software platform, and development of hardware products.
